How to choose dry food for your cat

Start with life stage: kitten formulas up to 12 months, adult from one to seven years, senior after that, and sterilised or indoor recipes if your cat is neutered or rarely goes out. Look for a named meat as the first ingredient and a protein content above 30%. Cats with urinary, kidney or skin problems should use a veterinary diet such as Royal Canin Urinary S/O or Hepatic only on a vet's advice.
