Collar, harness or head halter
A flat collar carries the ID tag and suits calm walkers. A harness spreads pressure across the chest and is kinder for puppies, small breeds and pullers; Air Mesh harnesses are the most popular in Cairo heat. Retractable Flexi leashes give freedom in open areas but a fixed 1.2 to 1.8 m leash is safer on streets.
Getting the size right
Measure the neck or chest with a tape and leave two fingers of space. Each product lists the sizes in stock per supplier; Flexi, Dogness and Nylon ranges cover dogs from 2 kg to 50 kg.
